About

George Housakos advises on complex housing and social infrastructure challenges, with more than 20 years of experience across government, private and community environments. His work spans development, funding, policy and emerging housing models, giving him a practical understanding of how housing systems operate.

George’s work is shaped by a belief that housing challenges cannot be solved in isolation. He helps clients step back to understand the full system—policy, capital, community need and delivery—so decisions reflect how these elements interact in practice. This perspective has been central to his work on national housing challenges, including his leadership behind Rebalancing Australia’s Housing Mismatch

George is known for challenging assumptions early. He sees that housing conversations are often driven by ideology or single‑issue thinking, without fully testing commercial constraints or long‑term demand. His advice reframes these conversations to bring financial and non‑financial considerations into focus together.

In a market defined by complexity and competing priorities, clients rely on George brings clear, experience‑led perspective to complex housing decisions, grounded in what will work in practice.
