Jess Freeman • 28/01/2026
Josh McNamara Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Josh McNamara as Head of Tenant Advisory Group - Australia and New Zealand, marking the next chapter in the evolution of the firm’s occupier advisory platform across the region.

With more than 20 years’ experience in global office leasing and tenant advisory, Mr McNamara returns to Sydney after two years in Cushman & Wakefield’s Hong Kong office, where he led the firm’s international tenant representation desk.

Josh McNamara will succeed Michael Kearins, who is stepping down from his leadership role after two decades at the helm of the Australian and New Zealand Tenant Advisory Group. Mr Kearins will remain with the firm and will continue to work closely with Mr McNamara and the broader TAG leadership team, focusing on his longstanding client relationships and supporting the ongoing growth of the platform.

Noral Wild, Cushman & Wakefield’s Chief Executive – Australia, New Zealand and North Asia, said the appointment reflects both continuity and ambition within the business.

“Josh brings deep global experience, strong client relationships and a proven ability to connect local expertise with multinational occupier needs. Just as importantly, this transition ensures continuity for our clients.

“Josh will work collegiately with Michael as we continue to build momentum across our Tenant Advisory platform and deliver even greater value to occupiers navigating increasingly complex workplace and portfolio decisions.

“I would also like to sincerely thank Michael for his leadership over the past 20 years. His contribution to the firm, the growth of TAG and the calibre of the team he has built is significant, and we are delighted he will continue to play an important role with our clients.”

Mr McNamara paid tribute to Mr Kearins’ legacy and emphasised the collaborative approach to leadership. “Michael has built an exceptional Tenant Advisory Group and a culture that is deeply respected by clients and colleagues alike.

“I’m grateful for the strong foundations he has developed and look forward to working closely with him as we continue to support our clients and take the TAG platform into its next phase of growth” Mr McNamara said.

Mr Kearins said the transition reflects the strength and depth of the business. “Leading the Tenant Advisory Group for the past 20 years has been a privilege, and I’m incredibly proud of the team and the client partnerships we’ve built,” he said.

“Josh is a highly respected adviser with a strong global perspective and a deep understanding of occupier needs. I look forward to working closely with him and supporting the team as we continue to grow the platform together.”
