About
Jakob Cil is Head of Residential Investment Berlin & Region East within Capital Markets at Cushman & Wakefield, based in Berlin. He leads acquisition and disposal advisory for residential properties, forward deals, residential development sites and alternative living concepts across Berlin and the eastern German region, guiding institutional and private investors through the full transaction lifecycle, from strategic preparation and business plan development through to marketing, negotiation and closing.
Jakob joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2026. Before that, he spent several years at QSix, the British investment and asset manager, where he served as Senior Transaction Manager in Berlin. There, he built a residential portfolio of more than 1,000 units as part of a joint venture with a Swiss private equity company. Earlier in his career, he held roles in the transaction departments of THE FLAG Family Office and the Brookfield spin-off International Campus, working on transactions and project developments across Germany with a focus on student housing, young professionals' accommodation and senior living. He began his career, having completed his Master of Science, in the Residential Investment team at CBRE.
During his career, Jakob managed to generate transactions volume of around €3bn.
Jakob's approach combines rigorous transaction management with deep market knowledge of Germany's residential landscape. His experience spans single asset or portfolio acquisitions, forward-funding structures, project development and conversion as well as joint venture transactions, giving him a well-rounded perspective on how institutional capital moves through the residential investment market.
In his current role, Jakob is responsible for Berlin and the eastern German states, including Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia, regions that have consistently ranked among Germany's most active residential investment markets in recent years.
His sector focus centres on residential and living assets, spanning multifamily housing, student accommodation, senior living and alternative living concepts, supported by Capital Markets expertise tailored to institutional investment strategies.
